The Mill of the Sources in Provence

In the small village of Gordes in Luberon, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of southeastern France is a small hamlet of large groups of stone houses that dot a large secular of olive trees plantations. One of them is a transformed old farmhouse called “The Mill of the Sources” by a couple from Lyon who managed to preserve the stones, vaulted ceilings and soul of the past.

The old farmhouse has been built with several layers over time, the older parts date from the 17th century. The stone walled home was once intended for the production of olive oil, as evidenced by its vaulted cellar where the former owners have found a mill for olives which the wheel was powered by a mule, and large tanks. “This is what has attracted us,” tells the owner of the home. “We were attracted by its history and its mysterious side.” Decorated with contemporary interiors, the home is now a comfortable five guestroom bed and breakfast.
